How to become a sponsor

The cost of sponsoring a child for one year is $400 per year, which may be paid annually or quarterly. Tax deductible receipts will be issued to all sponsors.

Sponsorships can be paid by credit card, (post-dated) cheque or money order. Please see "How to donate" for details.

Of the $400 sponsorship fee, $360 is sent to the settlement; TRAS uses 10% of the sponsorship fee to pay for the costs of administering the program. To keep costs low, TRAS has a single part-time staff person and a volunteer sponsorship secretary.

All sponsors become TRAS members, with no additional fee. By becoming a TRAS member, you will receive TRAS' quarterly newsletter, containing policy updates and case stories from our field projects in Nepal, India and Tibet. Members furthermore receive early invitations to all TRAS cultural and public awareness events, and an exclusive invitation to attend the Annual General Meeting to discuss policy and program issues.
